Why I attempted to complete the 3 Week Diet Plan by Brian Flatt?

Why would a Bible-believing Christian woman try a NEW FAD DIET PLAN? Well, it all started with my marriage. One tearful day, I decided to share my heart with the LORD. "LORD, it's been another long and heart-wrenching season with my husband. I am feeling lonely and rejected. I wonder, "Will my husband ever really want to be married to me?"
Before opening the pages of my Bible, I innocently and softly said out loud, “LORD Jesus, will You marry me?” Afterward, I opened my Bible. The pages amazingly landed on Matthew 22, the parable of the wedding banquet. I sobbed for hours.
The next day, I opened my Bible yet again. My heart was still basking in my Bible devotion from the day before. Once more, I allowed the pages to fall as they may. My jaw dropped when I read,

“For your Maker is your husband,
The LORD of hosts is His name;
And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel;
He is called the God of the whole earth.
For the LORD has called you
Like a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit,
Like a youthful wife when you were refused,”
Says your God.” Isaiah 54:5-6 (NKJV)

My Wedding Photo
Recently, I found myself reminiscing about that wonderful promise from God. As a result, I decided to commemorate my love for Christ Jesus as my betrothed. Wanting to look my best, I decided to lose weight. That's where the diet came in. Here is a picture from my special day.

Daily Blog of the 3 Week Diet Plan, Brian Flatt ~By Donna L. Young ~DAY 11

Daily Blog of the 3 Week Diet Plan, Brian Flatt

~Day 11~

PROs

  • 145! Woohoo!
  • Now I can eat anything I want so long as I stay under a certain amount of calories and carbs.
  • White refined sugar doesn't taste as good as God's organic sugar. (I tried to eat a bar off of a Kit Kat candy bar and all I tasted was crunchy sugar and fat. Then, my husband handed me a few pieces of a juicy cold tangerine that he brought home from my Father-in-law's yard..thank you Dad. The orange was sweet and satisfying! Who would have thought I'd ever put down an unfinished candybar?
CONs
  • Right now? None!

DEVIATIONS

  • None! I can eat whatever I want. Yeah!

So far, so good. See you tomorrow!

Daily Blog of the The 3 Week Diet Plan~Brian Flatt, By Donna L.Young Day 10

~Day 10~

PROs

  • My finger nails are rock hard and my skin condition has all but cleared up.
  • Also, I large bump on the bottom of my foot has almost completely disappeared.
  • Not putting the weight right back on. Weighed 146.8 this morning.
  • Still expelling parasites.
  • Starting to like Macadamia Nuts.
  • Food is taking longer to eat. (I am no longer scarfing down my meals). And, I am getting fuller faster on less.
CONs
  • PLATEAU! 146.8.
  • The high fat content is making me feel nauseous. I miss the first week when I just felt hungry.

DEVIATIONS

  • Ate a completely different dinner than prescribed. Was supposed to have a steak with butter on top but just couldn't eat anymore high fat. So, I had a ham, bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich on white toast. I did add mayonnaise as suggested.
  • I cheated with 3 thin Oreo which I shared with our rescued Chihuahuas. Also, I ate a yogurt.

So far, so good. See you tomorrow!

Daily Blog of the 3 Week Diet Plan, Brian Flatt ~By Donna L. Young ~DAY 9

Daily Blog of the 3 Week Diet Plan, Brian Flatt

~DAY 9~

Okay, so last night I was able to eat anything I wanted. I chose a McDonald's double Quarterpounder. No, this is not a McDonald's diet. But, for some reason, unknown to me, I keep craving fast food. Well, the result was complete nausea. If I could do last night's meal over, I would. I spent much of the night trying to keep the McDonald's down. I also experienced heartburn today along with an upset stomach. Well, at least I won't be craving fast food for awhile :)

As for today, I have stuck to the plan fairly well. The only exception is that I ate at 2, 5 and 8:00pm instead of 12, 3 and 6pm. And, I at a yogurt at the end of the day to alleviate the nausea.

PROs
  • Keeping the weight off so far, despite a huge fast food meal.
  • Eating such high fat meals is making me WANT to work out.

CONs
  • Today, I began the High FAT portion of the diet plan. I had been looking forward to this part, but, it feels like every artery in my chest is clogging with fat.
  • I also began taking omega 3 fish oil today. I think both the fish oil and the high content of fat are the reason I feel so nauseous.
  • I checked my blood pressure today at Rite Aid and it was VERY HIGH compared to normal.
  • And, I have heartburn for the first time today.
  • Still 146.8! I think I've hit another plateau.
DEVIATIONS

  • Worked out again instead of taking a day off in between workouts.
  • Added a yogurt to my day.
  • Have not been taking my daily brisk walk for 30 minutes. (I've only walked one day during the past 8 days).
That's all for now. See you tomorrow!

Daily Blog of the 3 Week Diet Plan, Brian Flatt ~By Donna L. Young ~DAY 8

Daily Blog of the 3 Week Diet Plan, Brian Flatt
By Donna L. Young ~DAY 8~

Today was day 8. I weighed the same amount as yesterday 146! Just seeing the number on the scale, I flashed back to those days on the Adkins diet when I had lost a bunch of weight quickly then suddenly plateaued. I learned then that eating broke the plateau. So, I am sure after today's total fast, the meal will tell my body that I am trying to starve it and get my metabolism started again. Well, at least that is what I hope.

PROs

  • Still happy about the number 146!
  • Looking forward to eating anything I want tonight @ 8:00pm

CONs

  • Fasting, when it isn't for an answer to prayer is REALLY NO FUN!

SO FAR SO GOOD! SEE YOU TOMORROW!

3 Week Diet Plan, Brian Flatt ~By Donna L. Young ~Day 7

3 Week Diet Plan, Brian Flatt ~By Donna L. Young ~

Day 7~

Well, the weight is mostly staying off. 146.2 today. I went up a little, but not by much.

PROs
  • Weighed 146.2 this morning!!!
  • NOTHING tastes better than plain water anymore. I tried a swig of my son's sweetened iced tea and it tasted terrible. I also tried a drink from my husband's PROPEL water. Again, I was immediately reaching for my purified water glass. Amazing!
  • I am sleeping really well at night!
  • Can't wait until day 9 when I can have anything I want (as long as I stay under 30 carbs of course).
CONs
  • Still hungry between meals.
  • Still wrestling with short temper.
Deviations
  • I ate a pre-packaged, individual communion cup to celebrate communion with my LORD.
  • Had provolone cheese and two slices of fresh tomato with my egg and onion omelet this morning.
So far, so good. See you tomorrow!

3 Week Diet Plan, Brian Flatt ~By Donna L. Young ~ Day 6~

3 Week Diet Plan, Brian Flatt ~By Donna L. Young ~

Day 6~

Well,  I hit an old goal weight today. 145.6! You know, the last time I weighed this amount, I was going to CURVES AND working out at home regularly. Plus, I was counting calories.  Back then, it took months and months to lose a few lbs. This time, 5 days! So I will press on!

PROs
  • Weighed 145.6 this morning!!!
  • Getting full easily.
  • Worked out again and slept with icy-hot patches on my thighs. Pain in my legs went away completely.
CONs
  • Still hungry between meals.
  • Very tempting to buy candy bars while waiting in grocery line.
Deviations
  • I ate a pre-packaged, individual communion cup to celebrate communion with my LORD.
  • At the end of the night, I began craving something sweet. So, I ate a yogurt with all natural ingredients.
So far, so good. See you tomorrow!

Daily Blog of the 3 Week Diet Plan, Brian Flatt ~By Donna L. Young ~DAY 5

3 Week Diet Plan, Brian Flatt ~By Donna L. Young ~

Day 5~

I cannot believe how much I've lost already! I've tried several diets in the past that were similar to this one. However, I have never had these results before! And, so I will press on!

PROs
  • Weighed 146.8 this morning!!!
  • Getting used to the hunger pangs.
  • Headaches went away. And, I didn't take the caffeine supplement today.
  • Hearing and reading Scripture in a deeper more meaningful way.
  • Being in control of my eating habbits is having another surprising effect. I am also taking a hard look at my Spiritual health. It seems I have quite the plank in my eye that I have looked past for awhile. Humble me gently LORD. I pray.
CONs
  • Still can't walk without feeling pain in my thighs.
  • Not so slow to anger as commanded by my Jesus.
Deviations
  • Cheated a few times. 1st, I had a few samples at Nothing Bundt Cakes.
  • Next, I substituted a protein at dinner. I ate a piece of roasted pork from dinner.
  • Then, I ate 1/2 of a new yogurt I received as a gift from our LORD. (Vons Just4U program).
  • And, last, I ate a pre-packaged, individual communion cup to celebrate communion with my LORD.
  • Just had water at the 8:00pm meal time. I was full!
So far, so good. See you tomorrow!

Daily Blog of the 3 Week Diet Plan, Brian Flatt ~By Donna L. Young ~DAY 4

3 Week Diet Plan, Brian Flatt ~By Donna L. Young ~

Day 4~

Well, the 3 Week Diet Plan Manual says that the results of the scale are enough to keep you pressing on. They are right! My starting weight was 152.2. Today, I weighed 148.0! I was sure that this was just water weight. So, I took out my rusty trusty tape measure. Sure enough, I had lost 2 inches off my hips and 1 in off my abs. My stomach, arms and thighs had stayed the same. Therefore, I am hoping that when I begin eating carbs again, that all the weight will not pack back on.

PROs
  • Weighed 148.0 this morning!!!
  • The hunger pangs are a horrible side effect. But, this diet plan (fast) is redirecting my attention away from worldly things and instead toward God. Also, I am beginning to deeply appreciate my Savior's time in the wilderness. "How did Jesus ever go without food or drink for 40 days?" I wonder.
CONs
  • Still feeling a little nauseous from the Stacker Fat Burner.
  • Sick of vegetables already. And, now, sick of chicken too!
  • Can't walk without feeling pain in my thighs.
Deviations
  • Cheated once with a few samples at Nothing Bundt Cakes. No Regrets!
  • Also, we had no beef in the house to cook, so I bought a Big Mac from McDonald's and at only the lettuce and meat. Oddly enough, I rarely eat McDonald's and I've had it 2x so far.
  • Ate one of my 11-yr-old's home made chocolate chip cookies. I miss sugar!
So far, so good. See you tomorrow!

Daily Blog of the 3 Week Diet Plan, Brian Flatt ~By Donna L. Young ~DAY 3

Day 3~

PROs

  • Day 1 & 2 were definitely much more difficult than today. Maybe because I added a Stacker Fat Burner to my day. (A Fat Burner is recommended as part of the 3 Week Diet Program. I purchased this one at the Dollar Store. They're pretty much caffeine. So my headaches went away almost immediately. I concluded that the headaches were probably caused by a caffeine withdrawal).  Although, now the caffeine on an empty stomach is starting to make me feel a little nauseous.
  • Weighed 149.0 this morning!!!
  • Tried the workout included in the program. Was intimidated at first by the Goblet Squats, but they weren't hard at all. I must admit that my legs felt like Jello for awhile afterward though.
  • The workout made me want to drink more water which is good because I was having a hard time drinking the recommended Gallon a day.
  • I was definitely LESS CRANKY today! Which my family seems to appreciate :)
  • A skin condition that I've had my entire life is suddenly clearing up. Also, a bump on the bottom of my foot seems to be disappearing. Plus, my tongue feels cleaner and my nails are getting exceptionally strong.
CONs
  • Still a little hard to drink a gallon of water a day.
  • Sick of vegetables already.
  • Don't like feeling hungry all the time.

Deviations
  • Ate a hard boiled egg with second meal. Protein was only supposed to be at first and third meal.
  • Added 1 tsp of mayonnaise to a piece of chicken.

So far, so good. See you tomorrow!

Daily Blog of the 3 Week Diet Plan, Brian Flatt~ by Donna L. Young DAY 2

Well, The 3 Week Diet Plan ~by Brian Flatt~ is off to a rocky start (for my poor 11-yr-old I mean). As for me, I've seen immediate results!

~Day 2~

PROs

  • Got to have some protein today instead of just rabbit food. I ate 3 eggs for breakfast and a piece of chicken for lunch.
  • Weighed 150.4 this morning!!!
CONs
  • CRANKY!!! And on my 11-yr old's 2nd day of summer vacation. Poor thing!
  • Also, I found myself wandering around, rather circling the coffee pot. My mourning routine of a cup of coffee with my Bible time had gone all Topsy-Turvy.
  • Still suffering a pretty intense head ache.
  • Super hungry. Trying to get used to the hunger pangs.

Deviations

  • I was out doing ministry at the 4:00 pm mealtime. So, I ate a McDonald's Chicken Artisan sandwich with no bun and no sauce. (I accidentally ate a protein at 4:00 pm instead of 8:00 pm)
  • Performed an home Vinegar enema. Tons of parasites expelled.
  • Didn't exercise at all today.
  • Stopped taking the Black Walnut Complex and using the Zapper.

So far, so good. See you tomorrow!

Daily Blog of the 3 Week Diet Plan, Brian Flatt ~by Donna L. Young~ DAY 1

So why would a Bible-Believing, God Fearing woman ever try a fad diet? Well, you're going to have to wait 3 weeks for the reason. (I'm odd enough without adding a finishing touch, unless of course The 3 Week Diet Program by Brian Flatt works). So for right now, I'll just be reporting on my success and failures with the 3 week program.

Let's see. My current weight is 152.2 lbs. Goal weight 140 lbs. (what I weighed the day I married my husband 13 years ago).

~Day 1~

Because I am a Christian, I'll report the Good News first...

PROs

  • Feeling excited to try a new diet. Maybe after 13 years of counting carbs and calories, I'll finally reach my goal.
  • Only cheated 1x. Ate one teaspoon of mashed potatoes while cooking my husband's dinner. Yeah!
  • The first day is not unlike the 21 Day Detox, I've sort-of been doing once a year for sometime.
  • The only exercise for this day is a 20 min walk. EASY-PEASY! Had to walk the dogs anyway.

CONs

  • Difficult to break the habit of one cup of coffee with my morning bible study (quiet time with the LORD).  For seven years straight, I've kept the same settled method of devotion. With this plan, I am not supposed to eat or drink anything until 12:00 p. And, NO COFFEE is allowed for the first 2 weeks. My poor family!
  • For my first meal, I combined all the ALLOWED veggies that I already had in my fridge. I made a homemade soup. My homemade soup included cabbage, carrots, tomatoes and onion. The entire house smelled like I was suffering from a bad case of flatulence. Probably not a good time to host a women's bible study!
  • Intense headache! Felt like I was doing a complete fast.
  • Difficult to actually drink the gallon of water prescribed by the 3 week diet plan.
  • Need to have access to a bathroom from drinking so much water.
Deviations

I felt all fired up about starting a new diet plan. So, I decided to take advantage of the occasion. Therefore, I added a day of parasitic cleanse by taking innovite Black Walnut Complex and using a Zapper that I had purchased months ago but barely used.

So far, so good. See you tomorrow!
