Wonderful, loving Father, today while at a wedding service in our home town, a friend of mine caught Travis in a very precious moment. He was sharing Your Son, Jesus with another churchgoer. She described the treasured moment.
Apparently, sometime after the young couple had exchanged their wedding vows, and while guests were enjoying a piece of wedding cake, Travis had pulled a sweet little girl to the side. Your Spirit must have moved his caring heart because right away, Travis began reading to the little girl out of his new children’s devotional journal.
I must say, as his mother, I delight in moments such as these. In a selfish way, I think about what this journey would have been like had You not placed Travis in my life. LORD, thank You for not making me take this journey alone. I know that You love me because You gave me Travis as a fellow companion, evangelist, and someone who truly cares about the souls of others. Oh LORD, when I first surrendered to Your will, I never thought about just how lonely this journey might feel sometimes. Yet, my young son's presence is a constant reminder that I am not alone. Each day, I see a reflection of Your closeness and faithfulness through the eyes, hands, and feet of my sweet devoted son. Truly, LORD, You are ever near. Father God, from the depths of my heart, I wish to thank You. I love You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
