Counting all the Things of This World as Lost-And Not Missing them at All

I called a friend the other day. I got her voicemail. As I waited to leave a message, I listened to a song I hadn't heard before. "That's a weird song." I thought as the music played.

Later on, I asked my friend about the song. "Did that song really say what I think it said?" My friend just smiled and said, "You haven't heard it before? Wow! It's a very popular dance that's been sweeping the Nation." Immediately, I started to think about how I used to keep up with all the fads of the world. Now, I was completely "out of fashion."

I guess, over the past four years, I simply became so busy in the work of Christ and so completely satisfied with the things of my Savior, that I no longer have time for the things of the world. Oddly enough, I don't miss it at all!

1 John 2:15-17 (NKJV) "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.  For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.  And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever."
