February 6, 2013: My Personal Journal Entry: When God uses Your Bible to speak to Your Heart

Holy LORD, when I experience moments like the one that occurred today, I am truly humbled. Clearly, You are the God Who watches over me and I worship You!
Today, I opened my Bible and expected that You’d guide me in doing Your will today. The pages of my Bible landed upon Acts chapter nine. "Paul’s conversion…hmmm," I immediately thought. Over the past four years of allowing the pages to fall as they may each day, rarely have the pages of my Bible landed upon New Testament passages. Perhaps that’s why on occasions such as today, I take notice. Your Words written in red always tend to dig in a little deeper.
I read the chapter and tried my best to meditate on Your mighty grace. “There’s still hope,” I told my aching heart. Surely, if God can change a wretch like Paul and someone like me, He has the ability to save anyone!

After dinner, my 8-year-old son approached me and sat down by my side. He still needed to complete one daily school assignment, to read for fifteen minutes. This time, Travis chose to read from his children’s Bible. He wanted to read a story out loud to me. As he opened the pages, my son said out loud, "What do You want me to read God?" Then, he allowed the pages to fall as they may. The pages wavered back and forth before finally settling. Acts, Chapter nine! Unbelievable! Travis began to read, while I quietly said a little prayer in my heart.  “Father God, I am realizing now that Your sovereignty is much more infinite than I could ever grasp. Clearly, trusting You is part of Your plan. Father, please help me to trust You more. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
