Glorious Father, thank You for an
amazing Resurrection Sunday! Your Spirit had clearly been working on my husband’s
heart leading up to a remarkable weekend spent with You.
Before the glorious morning of Easter Sunday even arrived, my husband booked a
hotel room in our beloved town for the entire weekend. I had
prayed that we’d attend church as a family.
But, I hadn’t expected that he’d extend our visit to three days.
Just before we left the campground
and began our three-hour drive north, I
called our Pastor. "We will be in town this weekend. Do you need any help
in preparing for Easter service?" I asked. “I think we have it all
handled.” Our Pastor replied. “However, we are hosting a Good Friday Service at
a local coffee house if you want to attend?” He humbly invited.
“God wants us to attend.” I
immediately thought. Excited, I told my husband about the event. Even
though he didn't fully comprehend the meaning of the words
"Good Friday," without reservation he made sure we had enough
time check into our hotel and attend the event on time.
As usual, I began talking with
friends the minute we arrived. This time, I was quickly caught up in
conversation while still in the parking lot. So, my husband took our
young son by the hand and went inside the coffee house. After a while, I
went inside to join them. I couldn't believe my eyes! My husband with
our youngest son sitting side by side, was
rocking back and forth in his chair, eyes closed, caught up in a moment of deep
devotion to You. I quickly grabbed for my camera and videotaped the moment,
hoping to cherish it forever.
The next morning, my husband took
both of our boys golfing. While they were gone, I remained in our hotel
room. It felt good to share some alone time with You before celebrating the
glory of Your Son’s resurrection. I read my Bible as usual and
contemplated Your incredible sacrifice upon
that cross. Soon I too, was caught up in moment of worship. I got down on my
hands and knees and began to thank You for all that You’ve done for me!
